‘Game of Thrones’ connects with Hotstar audience via OOH
As part of a multimedia campaign, over 50 billboards with the title ‘Torrents Morghulis’ were strategically placed in key locations across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru by The Social Street.
Popular fantasy-drama series ‘Game of Thrones’ launched in 2011, which over the past seasons has gained a worldwide phenomenon status, entered its seventh season this July. Star India’s digital entertainment platform Hotstar which streams the series uncensored and minutes after the US television premiere, takes the traditional way to promote the international sensational show i.e. via OOH.
As part of a multimedia campaign, over 50 billboards with the title ‘Torrents Morghulis’ were strategically placed in key locations across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru by The Social Street.
‘Torrents Morghulis’, which in Game of Thrones language translates to ‘Torrents must die’ is inspired by the popular line ‘Valar Morghulis’ from the show meaning ‘All men must die’. The campaign attempts to effectively catch the fancy of dedicated Game of Thrones loyalists while highlighting the issues of illegal streaming sites and torrents.
